MLS 2026 — Apple TV+ has every match worldwide

Major League Soccer has the most consolidated broadcast deal of any major North American sport. From the 2023 season onwards, Apple TV+ holds exclusive global rights to every MLS regular season match, every playoff match, and the MLS Cup final via the MLS Season Pass product. This means the cheapest path to watching MLS is the same in every country: MLS Season Pass at $14.99/month or $99 for the full season ($11/month-equivalent). The product is available on Apple TV+, Apple TV (the device), iPhone, iPad, Mac, web browsers, smart TVs, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Chromecast and game consoles. FOX in the US has retained limited rights to selected marquee matches plus the All-Star Game, MLS Cup playoffs and the Leagues Cup featuring Liga MX teams.

United States — Apple TV+ MLS Season Pass

MLS Season Pass at $14.99/month is the only way to watch every MLS match live in the US. The annual pre-season price of $99 works out to $11/month-equivalent across the season — the cheapest "every match" MLS product. Apple TV+ subscribers get a $25 discount on the season pass at $79/season. FOX broadcasts about 34 selected MLS matches per season free over-the-air on FOX, FS1 and FS2 — including the All-Star Game and the MLS Cup playoffs. A digital antenna is sufficient in any US zip code. For a casual fan who only wants the playoffs and the Cup final, the FOX over-the-air signal is sufficient and free.

Outside the US — same Apple TV+ Season Pass

MLS Season Pass costs the local-currency equivalent of around $14.99/month in every country where Apple TV+ operates — UK at £14.99/month, Australia at A$24.99/month, Canada at C$19.99/month, Mexico at MX$199/month. The $99 annual season pass is similarly priced in local currency. For international viewers, MLS Season Pass is the only legal product carrying every match live. Local broadcasters may carry selected marquee matches (Inter Miami matches involving Lionel Messi have been particularly widely re-licensed) but no comprehensive product exists outside Apple TV+.

Inter Miami and Lionel Messi matches

Since Lionel Messi's arrival at Inter Miami in 2023, his matches have driven a disproportionate share of MLS viewership globally. Apple has used Messi-featuring matches as a marketing centerpiece for the Season Pass product. For casual fans who only want to watch Messi, MLS Season Pass at $14.99/month or $99/season is still the cheapest legal path. Some Messi matches have been simulcast on selected national broadcasters (e.g. Telemundo in the US for Spanish-language coverage), but the Apple deal is exclusive worldwide. A monthly Season Pass for the duration of Messi's contract is the typical "casual Messi fan" approach — sign up for the months you want to watch and cancel afterwards.

Cheapest legal MLS paths globally

MLS pricing is genuinely simple thanks to the Apple TV+ exclusive deal: - Every country: MLS Season Pass at local-currency equivalent of $14.99/month, or $99 for the season. - Apple TV+ subscribers get a $25 discount on the season pass. - US only: FOX over-the-air for selected playoff and Cup matches, free with antenna. There is no cheaper legitimate product anywhere in the world. The Apple deal eliminated regional pricing differences and free-to-air carve-outs that exist in other sports. For cost-conscious fans, the $99 annual pass is the best value at $11/month-equivalent and saves $80 versus monthly billing for the full season. Subscribing only for the playoff months (October-December) at $14.99/month for two months works out to $30 — the cheapest way to watch the MLS Cup.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest way to watch every MLS match?
MLS Season Pass at $99 for the full season ($11/month-equivalent) is the cheapest legitimate "every match" MLS product anywhere in the world. The same product is available in every country at local-currency equivalent.
Can I watch MLS for free?
In the US, FOX broadcasts about 34 selected matches per season free over-the-air, including the All-Star Game and MLS Cup playoffs. For everyday matches, no — Apple's exclusive deal eliminated free-to-air coverage of regular season fixtures.
Why is MLS Season Pass priced the same everywhere?
Apple negotiated a global exclusive deal with MLS, eliminating regional rights sales and the price differences they create. The same product at the same monthly price is available in every Apple TV+ market worldwide.
Is the MLS Cup shown free?
In the US, FOX broadcasts the MLS Cup final free over-the-air. Internationally, MLS Season Pass is the only option.
Can I use a VPN to watch MLS cheaper?
