UFC 2026 — broadcast rights and pay-per-view structure

The UFC has roughly 40-45 events per year split into three categories: numbered pay-per-view events (UFC 300, UFC 301, etc — about 13 per year), Fight Nights (about 20 per year on the main roster), and Dana White's Contender Series during the summer. Every event has a free preliminary card streamed on ESPN+ (US) or the local broadcaster, followed by a paywalled main card. PPV events also have an additional purchase requirement on top of the base subscription. Fight Nights have everything on the main subscription with no PPV upcharge. The UFC's ESPN deal in the US ends in 2025, and reports suggest a new partner (potentially Netflix, given its WWE deal) takes over in 2026. As of writing, ESPN+ remains the US home with the new deal expected to be announced.

United States — ESPN+ at $11.99/mo plus PPVs

ESPN+ at $11.99/month carries every UFC Fight Night main card and prelims, plus the prelims of every PPV event. The 13 numbered PPV events per year cost $79.99 each on top of the base ESPN+ subscription. The Disney Bundle at $14.99/month adds Hulu and Disney+ to the ESPN+ subscription for $3 extra — recommended for any UFC fan who also wants the wider Disney/Hulu catalogue. For a hardcore UFC fan watching every PPV (13 events × $79.99 = $1,039) plus ESPN+ ($143/year), the total annual cost is around $1,180. For a fan who only watches Fight Nights and the prelims of PPVs, the cost is just $143/year for the ESPN+ subscription. For pure PPV viewers, sportsbar viewing or splitting a PPV with friends is the only way to bring the per-event cost down to a reasonable level.

United Kingdom — TNT Sports at £30.99/mo, no PPVs

TNT Sports holds UK UFC rights and includes every UFC event in the standard Discovery+ Premium subscription at £30.99/month. There are no PPV upcharges in the UK — every numbered PPV event is included in the base £30.99 subscription. This means UK UFC fans pay roughly £372/year for unlimited UFC including all 13 PPVs. Compared to the US cost of around $1,180/year for the same content, UK fans get significantly better value. There is no free-to-air UFC coverage in the UK. BT Sport (the predecessor brand to TNT Sports) carried UFC for several years before the merger with Eurosport into TNT Sports.

Australia, Canada and worldwide

Australia: Main Event on Foxtel and Kayo Sports at A$25/month for prelims, with PPV events charged separately at A$54.95-$69.95 each. UFC Fight Pass is available standalone at A$11.95/month for prelims and the historic Fight Pass library. Canada: TSN+ at C$8/month carries Fight Nights. PPVs on TSN PPV at C$59.99-$79.99 each. Germany: DAZN Germany at €19.99/month carries every UFC event including PPVs at no extra cost — comparable value to the UK TNT deal. Mexico: Fox Sports holds rights via the Fox Premium app at MX$199/month. For every other country, UFC Fight Pass at $9.99/month is the global catch-all product carrying selected events plus the historic library.

UFC Fight Pass — the value-add subscription

UFC Fight Pass at $9.99/month or $95.99/year is the UFC's own streaming product. It does NOT carry numbered PPV events live, but does include: - Every UFC Fight Night prelims live - The complete UFC archive going back to UFC 1 in 1993 - Every Pride FC, Strikeforce, WEC and Affliction event - LFA, Cage Warriors and other partner promotion events live - Live UFC Fight Pass Invitational grappling events - The UFC Performance Institute training and analytics content For MMA fans interested in the broader sport beyond PPVs and main cards, Fight Pass is the deepest value — the equivalent of Netflix for MMA at $9.99/month.

How to watch UFC PPVs without paying full price

PPVs at $79.99 in the US are the most expensive single-event sports purchases in modern subscription TV. Cost-conscious approaches: - Sports bars typically charge $5-15 cover for major UFC PPVs — a fraction of the home purchase cost and you get the social atmosphere. - Splitting with friends — most TV stream rights allow viewing on multiple devices simultaneously. - VPN to the UK — TNT Sports at £30.99/month includes every PPV at no extra cost. Standard caveats apply about payment methods and broadcaster terms of service. - VPN to Germany — DAZN Germany at €19.99/month includes every PPV. - Annual UFC Fight Pass at $95.99 covers every Fight Night prelims live (the free portion of every event), which is enough for casual fans who only care about marquee names on the main cards. - The entire UFC YouTube channel posts free condensed fight highlights typically within 24-48 hours of every event.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the cheapest way to watch every UFC event including PPVs?
TNT Sports in the UK at £30.99/month includes every UFC event including all 13 PPVs per year. Compared to roughly $1,180/year in the US for the same content, UK fans get dramatically better value. DAZN Germany at €19.99/month is even cheaper.
Is UFC Fight Pass enough for a casual fan?
Yes for casual fans who care about Fight Night events, the UFC archive, and partner promotions. No for fans who want the numbered PPV events live — Fight Pass does not carry PPVs.
Why are UFC PPVs so expensive in the US?
The US PPV business model has been the UFC's primary revenue source since the early years. International markets have been priced for subscription bundles instead. The 2025 ESPN deal expiry may change this — the next US partner could move to a subscription-only model like the UK.
Can I watch UFC for free anywhere?
Live, no — every event requires a paid subscription or PPV purchase. Condensed highlights of every event are posted free on the official UFC YouTube channel typically within 24-48 hours of the live event.
Can I use a VPN to watch UFC PPVs cheaper?
Connecting to the UK via a VPN and subscribing to TNT Sports gives you every PPV at no extra cost — dramatically cheaper than the US PPV model. Practical issues: requires a UK payment method, and broadcasters' terms of service typically prohibit out-of-market access.
